Eco Super Structures

The company features two different wall assemblies for you to choose from. The first assembly is slightly more economical than the latter, and utilizes expanded polystyrene (EPS) within its makeup, for its insulative properties. While this assembly is resistant to fire (because the EPS, a combustible material) is coated on its exposed surface with the company’s non-combustible USB3 composite, it still falls within the scope of Type VB (Combustible Construction) under the International Building Code (IBC).

EPS Wall Assembly

Mineral Board Wall Assembly

Alternatively, the company offers a second wall assembly, which merely substitutes the EPS from the prior assembly, with its USB3 insulating mineral board. This mineral board costs a little more than EPS, but it is completely non-combustible, classifying this wall assembly as Type I-III (Non-Combustible Construction) under the IBC.

THE ULTIMATE GREEN SOLUTONS

Our Construction with USB 3

At eCo Super Structures, we’re changing the way the world builds with our USB3 system, one building at a time. Adopting production line and quality control methodologies used in factories for hundreds of years, we apply those principles to home building, moving the production of your structure indoors, in order to take full advantage of the speed and efficiencies of working in a controlled environment. As a result, we’re able to completely manufacture, pre-assemble, and then deliver your buildings framing to your jobsite, ready to be erected, in just a matter of days.

Changing The Way The World Builds

Process

eCoSS takes a design led approach to deliver Cold Formed Steel (CFS) projects to its customers, facilitating a state-of-the-art design and production system. The distinct phases a project undergoes ensures a smoother workflow and improved timeline management.

Proposal > Engineering > Detailing > Production > Delivery

Proposal

Stage 1: Project/ Client Introduction

‣ Client discusses the scope of work with the eCoSS Marketing Team including:

⦾ Final Architectural Drawings (PDF and DWG Format)
⦾ Site Location
⦾ Inclusions and exclusions in scope of material supply
⦾ Clarity on specifics of building system, (i) Hybrid (ii) All Steel (iii) Wall and Roof Finishes, Wooden Truss, Floor, Beam, Column Information in the form of 2D Plans and 3D Dwg Drawings (in case of Hybrid Buildings)

Timeline: 1-5 Business days

Stage 2: Engineering

‣ Preliminary Engineering

⦾ Project placed in queue
⦾ 3-D models, Preliminary Engineering and cost estimation is conducted and provided to client for bidding

Timeline: 2-3 weeks for small projects, after all relevant information has been provided to eCoSS by the client.

Up to 4 weeks for larger, multi storey projects, or those with very complex roof systems.

NOTE: These timelines also include the que time the project must wait before actual working begins, per schedule of the eCoSS Engineering  Department.

‣ Detailed Engineering/ Structural Drawings

⦾ Once client accepts project bid, detailed engineering of the entire structure takes place with focus on all required connections, including other trades, such as structural steel and their connection designs.
⦾ Structural Drawings are drafted and reviewed by eCoSS Engineering.
⦾ Structural plans are available to the customer, who can then apply for building and foundation design permits.

Timeline: 1-3 weeks + client’s ability to provide the foundation design and building permit. The permitting process 4-6 weeks.

Detailing/ Shop Drawings

⦾ Each component is reviewed, including material production, handling,  shipping, and installation.
⦾ Client/ contractor provides DWG files of the Foundation Design, along with all Rough Opening (RO) Sizes of doors, windows, and specifications of Garage Door to eCoSS Engineering Department.
⦾ Structural Steel Detailing (Hot Roll/Red Iron) is outsourced to resources outside of eCoSS  Engineering Department.
⦾ CFS in-house Detailer and Structural Steel Detailer continue to work in parallel.
⦾ Upon completion of all checks and coordination with the various trades, the final model is used  to develop Shop Drawings.
⦾ Shop Drawings, often referred to as “Erection Drawings” are compiled manually by Drafters in eCoSS Engineering Team, while Individual Assembly Drawings and CNC files are generated following sequential steps.
⦾ Production of the CNC files are scheduled in the factory.

Notes:
Assembly Drawings: Drawings providing information to assemble a component like a wall panel, truss, web joist, beam, or column etc.
Shop Drawings: Drawings which provide complete information about the installation of the structure on site, with a key focus upon the erection and connections required.
As Built Drawings Disclaimer: Unlike Wooden Structures, the margin of error for foundations are much less acceptable in CFS structures. CFS structures are structures built with precision, accurate to within millimeters.

->Timeline: 2-4 weeks

Production

⦾ CFS production and assembly initiated
⦾ Raw materials ordered
⦾ Once columns, beams, plates and brackets have been pre-cut and pre-punched, they are then  delivered from the raw materials suppliers to eCoSS designated fabricator for fabrication.
⦾ Quantity survey performed to calculate the required quantities of all CFS screws, connector plates and trims, nuts & bolts, and USB3 system materials required to erect the structure

Timeline: 2-4 weeks, depending upon how quickly raw materials suppliers and fabricators. Simultaneously, the  eCoSS Production Team manufactures all CFS walls and trusses in the eCoSS factory.

Delivery

Once the CFS and Structural Steel (Hot Roll / Red Iron) productions have been completed, pre-assembled walls, trusses, columns, beams and accessories are scheduled for delivery.

Coordination of the deliveries are scheduled with the client

->Timeline: 7 to 10 days

After your framing is erected, and roof sheeted, plumbing and electrical can then be run through pre-punched service holes (no drilling required, saving yet more time and money).

Once utilities are roughed in, your contractor will now be ready to begin installing our USB3 composite exterior wall system. This starts by first sheeting your exterior perimeter walls with rigid EPS, filling your stud cavity with blown in cellulose insulation, and then closing the interior side of the wall with yet a third layer of rigid EPS, making your perimeter walls ready for application of our composites, the final step.

After the USB3 composites has been applied, all other processes for finishing your home are performed as with any other traditionally built home.

However, what you’ll instead have is, a home that’s Super Strong, providing you a host of other benefits, and nearly double the insulative R-Value of other homes, drastically reducing your energy bills and helping to save our planet!

So, whether you decide to provide us your already completed set of building plans to have us quote your home to be manufactured using our innovative USB3 system, select from one of our more than 12,000 existing plans database*, or decide to start designing from scratch, you can rest assured knowing that our friendly and knowledgeable staff will be there to assist you, every step of the way, from the very beginning, and throughout the entire erection of your home. The choices are yours.
